Gyros, Coffee, and Sweets at the Turkish Festival

We went to the North Carolina Turkish Festival in Raleigh yesterday, where we had gyros with cucumber sauce and salad. The meat in the gyros were a bit chewy, but had a nice flavor, and it was pretty cool to see the guys slicing the meat off those giant skewers. I had actually never seen that before in person. We also had Turkish coffee, which was extremely strong, extremely sweet, and extremely thick. When we got to the bottom of the cup, we found a thick layer of coffee ground. We also sampled a couple sweets -- something called a pine chest that tasted like a granola bar. I expected the other one, whose name I can't remember now (see the picture), to be very sweet, but to my surprise it was relatively mild. There were a bunch of other food at the festival. Unfortunately, we only stayed for a couple hours, so we couldn't sample them all.
